    THE FINEST BEER CAN RACING SERIES IN THE WORLD IS BACK! (and it’s a damn fine canned craft beer festival too!) This is the second annual, first and BEST canned beer festival in BC! 19+ local breweries will be showcased at the event (see bottom). Your $20 ticket includes race entry* and an afternoon of entertainment watching grownups become children… 100% of proceeds go directly to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. At the Beer Can Derby, racers make their cars out of beer cans and run them down a giant track (kind of like Matchbox or Cub Cars, but for grown ups).

Host Joe Wiebe – Thirsty Writer will talk about the history of craft beer in B.C. from 1858 through the start of the microbrewing movement in 1982 up to the present — and into the future. As part of the seminar, Joe will also lead you on a guided tour through a range of B.C. beers that each represent an important moment in the province’s craft beer history, providing tasting tips and suggestions for further craft beer explorations. At the end of the event, he will answer any and all questions you might have about craft beer in B.C.

    The Tri-Cities Cask Festival Association is proud to announce The Siris Cask Festival, a Craft Cask event featuring 25+ beers brewed exclusively by women. The goal of the festival is to provide a venue to showcase the amazing skill of our female brewers, reaching back to a time when the important duty of brewing beer was exclusively the role of women in society. Siris was the original goddess of beer in pre-Sumerian mythology. The other goal for the festival is to provide a bursary for Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Brewing Studies program. The bursary will be available to female students, with the intention of helping achieve gender parity in the brewing industry.
